And now for a tiny, inconvenient fact… When a server is breached the very first task of incident response is to gain custody over the server, and then maintain a chain off custody and document every step taken in analyzing the server.
Where are the DNC/DCCC server(s)?
The FBI did not take custody of them, so there is no chain of custody.
Apart from the fact that those named in indictment are beyond the jurisdiction of the U.S., even if only one of them showed up for trial and demanded to see the evidence against them, that would be the end of the case. The lack of custody over the server would be fatal to the charges alleged in the indictment.
The fact of the matter is the foreign policy establishment — the IC included — are so deeply stuck in group-think about Russia that this “indictment” was handed down not because the DOJ thinks it has a case (it doesn’t and they know it) but in a desperate attempt to undermine any efforts to develop better relations with Russia.
